What is a TID?

Transportation Improvement Districts are geographic areas organized to improve existing road systems. The TID does not represent a single municipality or township, and is not a large government agency.

Ohio House Bill 74 Section 203.40 approved by the 134th Ohio General Assembly provides $4.5 million in funding each fiscal year of the biennium. This funding can be used on all publicly owned roadways in Ohio. TID are permitted to submit multiple applications per funding round, but the funding is limited to $500,000 per fiscal year. TIDs that have adjacent county lines can co-sponsor projects but may only apply individually for $500,000 for those projects.

TID funding is for transportation projects that promote economic development: job creation, job retention, and private sector capital investment.
